Last week I announced on Instagram that all proceeds that week would be going toward local charities.  You responded so sweetly and together we were able to give £350 to Trussell Trust– a trust that supports UK foodbanks.  The last minute nature of the decision meant I wasn’t able to properly promote it.  The whole thing was haphazard at best, so I’m actually quite happy and am strongly considering doing it again.  This time I’ll do it right.  Stay tuned.

It seems like a knee jerk reaction, but a few things paved the way.  First of all, I saw a post on Facebook saying our local foodbank was giving out the number of food parcels in a week that they normally give in a quarter.  Later that day I ran across this verse, “If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person?” Well, thats a punch to the gut, isn’t it? The third flag was the next day. I was reading the newspaper and saw an article about how regular charities are in a real crisis as most giving has been diverted to the NHS.  With the rising need and decreasing support, I wanted to help, but knew my limited resources would be a minimal help.  I do have the shop, though.

That is when I sent out the post.  Thank you for sharing with others.  Thank you so much for your orders. Let’s do it again…
